3 WEEKS IN

well im in this new Alternative Energy intership over the next 6 weeks. its kind of fun i got alot of cool ppl in my group. i have alot of fun. and we do alot of interesting things.

WEEK 1: We got to know each other, and started our first experiment - we had made 12 different mixtures of treatment. with these ingredients ( Compost, dirt, and biochar ) we applied each treatment to half of a plate and filled the other side with regular dirt. we used 3 plates for each treatment and applied 8 worms to each plate.

WEEK 2: We checked on the worms that were in the plates. and recorded our data the whole point of the experiment was to see if worms would like the mixtures we made. and it turns out that they actually seemed to like it more than the regular dirt that was on the other side of the plate. We recorded our data and moved on to the next experiment. Our next experiment was doing the same thing but instead of putting our treatments into plates we put them into 12 seperate groups with 12 pots in each group. we labeled our groups T1 - T12. Then a couple dayz later we planted 3 beans in each pot and placed them in a garden and watered them.

WEEK 3: We checked on the plants everyday and watered them. we checked to see which ones sprouted, and recorded our data. one day we had a guest speaker Dr. Ray Chrispin, he came in and spoke to us about his experience with biochar and what he was involved with. i thought that overall he gave us alot of information even thou at times it was hard to stay awake. another day we watched and INCONVEINENT TRUTH. with Al Gore it was a terrific movie i loved it. It had alot of great information it really got me thinking about what i could do. this was one of the best documentary films i've ever seen. i think that everyone in my intership would agree in saying that was a great film.
